Join us for this peer-led, community-based book club focused on personal development and meaningful connection. This monthly gathering, hosted in the HealTree Group Room, provides a welcoming space to explore inspiring books on well-being, mindfulness, and self-growth. Together, we’ll engage in open discussions, reflect on personal insights, and connect with others on a shared journey of self-discovery. Whether you're looking to expand your mindset or simply enjoy thoughtful conversations with other open-minded individuals, this book club offers a supportive environment to nourish both your mind and soul. All are welcome—no prior reading experience necessary! This is a donation-based workshop series.
January's book is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. It's about an Andalusian shepherd boy, Santiago, who yearns to travel in search of a worldly treasure. His journey teaches us about the essential wisdom of listening to our heart, recognizing opportunity and learning to read the omens strewn along life's path. We will discuss its overlap with HealTree philosophies: connecting with others, practicing what you teach, and especially nature and animals have the power to heal.
This book club is peer-led by Zach Graboyes. Zach finds peace in participating in mindful meditation practices. While working at an outdoor education camp, he discovered the book The Alchemist and it completely transformed his view on finding your personal destiny. He hopes to share his enthusiasm for the novel with his fellow Heal Tree guests.

Join Millie and make a mug. It is a fun way to get your hands dirty and your creative juices flowing! Using the pinch pot technique, she will walk you through the process of making your very own ceramic mug with a coil handle. You will paint your own surface designs using a variety of colorful underglazes. You will choose your interior glaze color and Millie will take the mugs back to her studio to fire and glaze them. This finishing process will take about 3 weeks. The mugs will be fully functional and can go in the microwave and dishwasher. You'll have the satisfaction of drinking out of a mug you made!
