This works both in our favour to be informed and to our detriment, as global events are indelibly imprinted in the psyche of our generation in a far more continuous way than ever before possible. This module will look at the different ages of global consciousness and how yoga has gained a needed popularity for where we have arrived in our current society and how the practice of yoga will assist in moving mankind forward.
As a yoga instructor we deepen our understandings of the philosophies of yoga as a brilliant pathway to envolve in ourselves to then offer this knowledge to our students.

Rest, Recovery & Refuge - Restorative Yoga Training
This module will provide you with the history, background and current perspectives on the practice of Restorative Yoga from a biopsychosocial informed lens. Teaching methodologies of Restorative Yoga will be explored, along with foundational restorative yoga poses. Participants will be provided with an understanding of the poses and how to expertly, and confidently, set up Restorative Yoga poses to teach others, provide modifications for special circumstances, and also options to foster a personal practice.
Relevant yoga philosophy, technical physiological, energetic and practical considerations, and specific applications, will be discussed. You will gain a greater knowledge of the science of relaxation and the role of Restorative Yoga practice in the downregulation of the nervous system stress response.
Restorative Yoga has been found to reduce the physical and emotional impact of stress and anxiety, promotes deep sleep, calms the sympathetic nervous system, and supports healing and overall wellness of those who practice regularly. We will consider the scientific findings in relation to the philosophy and psychology of yoga, and how we as teachers can incorporate this learning into our teaching.
