SPECIAL EVENT: Gathering with Grief
Apr 25, 2025 - Apr 25, 2025

Grief is a natural, normal, human response to loss. While grieving is most often associated with the death of a loved one, it is important to note that grief comes in all shapes and sizes. Any type of loss can elicit a grief response (loss of loved one, job, home, the life you once had). If you are experiencing grief of any kind, please know that you are not alone.

This monthly offering will have a relevant theme each month. Led by Emily, you will learn how grief affects the body and the mind, and how yoga helps to regulate the nervous system. Each session will explore different tools to help you navigate your grief, including but not limited to: an active yoga practice, a softer yoga practice, pranayama breathing techniques, and guided meditations.

What to expect: We will begin our time together with tea, snacks and conversation to bridge connection. Next, we will go over the tools and practices that will be explored that evening. The remainder of our time together will consist of about an hour of yoga to care for your grief and time to honor who/what you have lost.

Once you step into the room, everything is optional. There is no obligation to participate. Grief shows up differently day to day, and we deeply honor your needs. You can simply arrive and rest on your mat to be in community with other grievers, as you listen and visualize the movements/techniques in your mind. Tears are always welcome and tissues will be provided.

Come as you are. There is a place for you here.

Please Note: This workshop is not a replacement for individual therapy and counseling.

Testimonial:

The class really met the need for support and a feeling of community for people going through loss. I thought the session was really nicely facilitated with thoughtfulness and grace - just lovely. Emily was terrific - compassionate, caring, supportive and down to earth, really met the needs of all of us in session.

- Andrea
