Ukulele & Group Singing Camp (Ages 5 -
18)
For music lovers who just want to strum a few chords and sing in a
group, this is our best summer offering. Our multi-instrumentalist
teachers will guide students in learning the basics of various
instruments, with a focus on ukulele and percussion. Do you already
play an instrument but want to get comfortable singing? Or do you
sing but want to learn to strum along or accompany yourself with
more confidence? If so, sign up for this one—but move fast, this
camp filled up last year!
Rock Covers Camp (Ages 8 -
18)
For those who want to ROCK in a band and hang with our coolest teachers in
a supportive, collaborative environment, this is your camp!
Students will select, learn, and cover popular tunes across genres
like rock, pop, R&B, and more. This camp is ideal for beginner
to advanced players of guitar, keyboards, bass, drums, and vocals.
However, at The Music Factory, we exercise our right to rock out in
any way, so wind and horn players are also welcome! This class is
best for students who are already comfortable on their
instruments.
Digital Production, Beat Making, & Laptop Music
Camp (Ages 8 - 18)
Create your own musical voice by making tracks using
Ableton Live—no
instruments required! Ableton Live will be provided by the school,
but students must bring their own laptops. If needed, we can
explore loaner laptops or iPads. Students may also use their
family's laptops, and we can help install the software.
Creative Songwriting Camp (Ages 8 -
18)
Practice musical storytelling and collaborate with other creative
students to compose an original Rock Opera! Humor, satire, and creative writing are
all encouraged. The goal is to compose and perform (or record) a
series of original songs in one week. Songwriters, singers, and
instrumentalists are all welcome! This may be our most fun and
unique camp offering, exclusive to The Music Factory. Students will
work with our staff to create riffs, beats, chords, and melodies,
combining them with storytelling to produce a masterpiece that only their group could
create.
Introduction to Music Camp (Ages 8 -
18)
Students will be introduced to legendary artists, learn about
different musical styles, and begin to explore music theory. No
prior musical experience is required, but we recommend that
students either take private lessons or plan to start music lessons
in the fall.
