The yoga
chair provides support and the ability to try variations of
postures that may normally be out of reach. It also offers us
feedback on how to use our bodies efficiently and effectively,
information we can then apply to asanas without the chair. Plus,
the chair is a fun and challenging way to spice up your practice!
Please note that this class is geared toward intermediate
students.
Limited enrollment. Advance registration required.

The Roll Model® Therapy Balls provide targeted self-massage trigger point therapy by using specially designed high grip rubber massage balls and focused movement routines to help penetrate through layers of skin and muscle to massage deeply into your high tension areas. The balls stimulate the nerves that provide positional feedback to your brain; consequently, you can sense whether you are in or out of alignment. You are able to make better choices about your position in space, as it relates to your activities.
This class is for the student who wants a longer format, well-rounded practice. We will practice sun salutations, standing asana, hip openers, forward bends, twists, backbends, arm balances, inversions, and will conclude with simple postures to rest, restore, and regulate the nervous system.
Cultivate good heath and vitality through breath work. This workshop is the first in a series dedicated to breathing.
In this class we will begin to explore the fundamentals of breath work by first asking the question What is the essential breath? Through a number of inquiries we will discover the subtleties and nuances of the breath, and notice the ways we interfere with or block the natural breathing process. With simple, easeful movement you will clarify the relationships between breath and movement. Various postures will be reviewed so you may find the position that works best for you to focus on your breath, without being uncomfortable nor falling asleep. Important observations about how and where you breathe gained from this class will serve as a springboard to learn how to reestablish proper breathing techniques to improve physical and mental health.
