We’re honored to be part of the renowned Astoria Cultural Festival for the second year in a row, and this time, YOU have the chance to perform with us!

Step into the spotlight with a fun, flirty, and sassy Melaya Leff choreography!

So, what is Melaya Leff? The melaya is a large, heavy shawl traditionally worn by women in Alexandria, Egypt, wrapped around the body for modesty when walking through town. Over time, this everyday garment transformed into a playful and theatrical dance prop, giving birth to the Melaya Leff dance—a cheeky, charming, and feminine style full of flirtatious gestures, dramatic reveals, and captivating footwork.

In this 5-week series, you’ll learn and perfect an exciting, high-energy routine, building confidence and stage presence as we prepare for an unforgettable performance at one of Queens’ most vibrant cultural celebrations!

The Details:
Rehearsals: Wednesdays, March 26th - April 23rd | 6:30-8:30 PM
Dress Rehearsal: Saturday, April 26th (Time TBD)
Showtime: Sunday, April 27th, 2:00 PM on Steinway St., Astoria

Fee: $275 before March 5th, $315 after.
Costume fee: TBA soon
