Support your meditation practice and connection with the
subtle body through hasta mudras and pranayama.
In this Meditation workshop, we will be exploring subtle body
energy through our breath and the placement of our hands. Our
fingers have a large number of nerve endings that play a big role
in how we sense the world around us, as well as provide a means of
communication to our brain and body. Placing our hands in these
mudras, or gestures, can help us connect with core qualities that
already exist within us, such as contentment, compassion and
expansiveness, that are aligned with our true being. Exploring
mudras can also support our breathing practices, balance our
energy, and foster an awareness of our lived experiences in our
body during meditation.
The workshop will open with an introduction and some gentle
movement followed by a guided meditation with mudra to support
awareness of your breath. Opportunities for personal journaling and
a short group discussion will be offered to support integrating
meditation into your day-to-day life. Participants will leave with
handouts to support their home practice.
The spring is here and each day you may be noticing new green
sprouts pushing up from the soil towards the sunlight. In our March
30 Meditation workshop, we'll shake off what's left of our winter
hibernation and connect to the earth element quality of stability
in order to cultivate our own growth and engagement with the world
around us.
