About the presenter…

 

Janice Zitelman (pronounced zittleman) is a semi-retired social worker. Her career spans 30 years in state government along with 12 years in care management, home health, nursing home, and hospice work. More recently has been providing psychotherapy part time at The Vine Wellness where she is a clinical social worker.

 

For over 40 years Janice has worked with the geriatric population and understands the changes that come our way as the years pass. Janice has been a caregiver both professionally and personally so she understands the difficulties, the stressors, and the rewards of caregiving.

 

Her activities and interests are varied and include ranch work weekends with children and grandchildren, cycling with her husband of 12 years, travelling to learn about history and different cultures, volunteering for League of Women Voters, Texas State Employees Union, and frequently for her congregation, University Presbyterian Church, She has many longtime friends and continues to make new ones as the opportunity arises. Janice's life motto is Live, Laugh, Love!

About the presenters…

 

Dr. Simone Norris

 

Dr. Simone Norris, a native of San Antonio, is a board-certified Family Medicine physician. She graduated with honors from St. Mary’s University, and obtained her MD degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

Dr. Norris served for 7 years in the United States Air Force, completing her residency training in Family Medicine at Andrews AFB, Washington, DC, followed by service in Misawa, Japan and Randolph AFB, TX. Prior to opening IFM, Dr. Norris held a decade-long faculty position with Christus Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency Program, helping to influence the minds and practices of many of our best local family doctors in San Antonio.

 

Integrative Family Medicine of San Antonio is the culmination of Dr. Norris’ vision to create a truly patient-centered practice with a holistic approach, a listening ear, and a compassionate heart. She enjoys learning her patients’ stories and guiding them through their health journey.

 

Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Norris’ passions are family, yoga, interior design, movies, dancing, singing and comedy. She and husband Dr. Tito Norris enjoy traveling and outdoor activities with their three children

 

Amanda John, P.A.

 

Amanda is a functional medicine Physician Assistant currently practicing at Integrative Family Medicine of San Antonio. She is passionate about helping people uncover the root cause of their diagnoses and steer them back toward a path of health and well-being. This passion is fueled by her own path to wellness and the joy and success she has found in helping others do the same. She believes that changing your lifestyle while combining both conventional and integrative medicine can have an amazing, long lasting impact in improving quality of life and wellness.

 

Amanda attended the University of Denver and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. She then received her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Texas Medical Branch. She is currently pursuing her certification through the Institute for Functional Medicine.

In her free time, Amanda spends time with her three young children and husband. You can usually find them riding bikes, playing at the park or cooking healthy meals together.

About the presenter…

 

Dr. Gonzalez is a Wellness Center physician serving our patients in the San Antonio area. She attended Texas A&M University in College Station and received her medical school training in Houston at McGovern Medical School. Dr. Gonzalez came to San Antonio for her residency training in Family Medicine and found a place filled with culture, a strong sense of community, generosity, and adventure.

 

Dr. Gonzalez has diverse medical experience ranging from private practice with inpatient care, international medical trips to Ghana, Haiti, and Oaxaca, and 12 years of teaching and practicing full-spectrum Family Medicine including obstetrical and hospital care. She has received additional training in Culinary Medicine through Tulane University and is passionate about continuing her varied interests in medicine including acupuncture, Ayurveda, and Lifestyle Medicine. Dr. Gonzalez intends to integrate her years of personal and professional experiences into a real, consistent, healing impact on her patients’ lives.

 

Dr. Gonzalez loves spending time with her daughter and husband, and going for long walks, exploring, bike riding, and cooking. She meditates daily and is committed to her physical, spiritual, and emotional journey. Dr. Gonzalez loves connecting with people, teaching, and being a life-long learner.
