Hypnotherapy is a natural, altered state in which the mind can receive helpful suggestions. Normally, there’s a critical filter between our conscious and subconscious minds. When new information comes in, the conscious mind analyzes it, while the critical factor checks against existing memories or beliefs in the subconscious. If the information aligns with those beliefs, it’s accepted and reinforced; if not, it’s sent back for further consideration.
During hypnosis, this critical filter relaxes, allowing us to access the subconscious more freely. In this state, we can provide imagery and suggestions to the subconscious, or we can explore it to identify any blocks and limiting beliefs that may be present.
