Join Troy McCarty for an in-depth Pilates Reformer training at Flex Yoga Wooster! Often called the “Universal Reformer” by Joseph Pilates, this versatile piece of equipment is a must-have in any Pilates studio. In this course, you’ll learn how to confidently and safely teach beginner and intermediate Reformer exercises. Gain the tools to adapt movements for various client needs and explore the principles behind each exercise to develop a deeper understanding and critical thinking skills right from the start.
Recommended Experience Before Attending:
- Familiarity with basic Pilates principles
- Participation in at least 20 Reformer classes
- Experience teaching movement for at least 1 year

Series Leaders:
Dee Black, Emily McDermott, Danielle Starlin, and Elissa Myers will
guide you each week. This series is perfect for newcomers,
returning students, or regulars looking to explore different class
types.
Schedule:
- Week 1: Introduction to Flex Yoga
Led by Dee Black, this session will cover the essential logistics
and answers to questions about entering a new space. We will go
over studio ettiquite, take an in-depth tour, visitor our wellness
practitioners, and get to know one another.
- Week 2: Introduction to Yoga Classes
Led by Emily McDermott, this session will focus on the yoga poses
and sequences you’ll experience at Flex. She will also cover our
Yoga class schedule and help you deterimine the best ones to start
with.
- Week 3: Introduction to Fitness Classes
Led by Danielle Starlin, this session introduces you to the Fitness
classes offered at Flex. Props and form will be emphasized, and you
will also learn about our Reformers. Danielle wil go over the
Fitness schedule and answer any questions you have.
-Week 4: Introduction to Aerial Classes
Led by Elissa Myers, this session provides an introduction to the
Aerial program and classes at Flex Yoga Wooster. She will go over
safety and basic poses, and you will end with a relaxation aerial
experience! We will celebrate at the end of this session with
snacks and coffee in the lobby, and we will help you purchase your
five-week membership if you choose.

We often fill every free moment we have during the day with the next thing on our to-do list, especially over the busy holiday season. When we stop for a few moments, our mind can easily race and fill with worries. If we allow our physical and mental selves time to rest, not just when sleeping, it is healing and rejuvenating for our body and mind. There is no better time than the change of the season just shortly before the
Winter Solstice to honor our need for rest and turning inward.
We will begin the evening with a few gentle movements, and then settle into intentional restorative poses, held for 4-20 minutes each. There will be options for aromatherapy elements in the class as well. In these postures, the body and the joints are gently supported, to give your mind and body the space to find calm and rest.
