Hatha Yoga is an ancient form of yoga that uses asana (yoga poses) and pranayama (breathing techniques) to balance mind, body, and spirit. In this 2 hour workshop we will dive into svadhyaya introspection and self-study, practice a 90 minute traditional Sivananda Yoga Hatha sequence, and then after reflect on how we can use these teachings in our daily lives for optimal health and well-being. This class will focus on poses that bend and rotate the spine, lubricate the joints, and lengthen the muscles. The exact progression of these poses leaves the entire body and mind tones, balanced, and properly aligned.
People of all levels can participate in this workshop, since each asana has simplified, intermediate, and advanced variations. Compared to other styles of yoga, you can expect to experience an easygoing pace, longer holds, and frequent intervals of relaxation.
