FAQs:
Do I need to pre-register? Yes, it's always a good idea to pre-register!
Do I need to sign up with a partner? You do not need to sign up with a partner! It is very common for folks to sign up for partner dance classes as individuals. While traditionally males are leads and females are follows, we are open to individuals making their choice when coming to learn with us. We just ask you that whether you choose to be a lead or a follow that you stick with that role until you are very experience dancer.
If I have a partner can we sign up together? Each person has to sign up individually - if you want to pay for two people please email us at dance@bazadance.com to get that set up properly for you.
How long is each bootcamp workshop? 2 hours, from 12:30-2:30pm.
What will I learn? Students will learn the fundaments of either Salsa or Bachata - the instructor will focus on the foundation figures as well as cover fundamental theory behind lead and follow. Please note that due to the drop-in nature of the GTK classes that the material may be the same from week to week, these lessons are meant to be an introduction to each dance style, they are not meant to be progressive or cumulative. If you want something more technical and progressive, please consider registering for our weekly Intro progressive connected dance courses.
If I attend the workshop only once am I ready for the Intro course? GTK workshops are designed to prepare students to enter the Intro course right away, but if you're feeling not-quite-ready there is nothing stopping you from taking a GTK lesson more than once.
How often do GTK lessons take place? Currently each GTK Bootcamp takes place every 8 weeks.
What do I wear? We encourage all students to dress as
comfortably as possible! If the weather is bad please make sure you
bring clean indoor shoes to change into - we do not allow outdoor
shoes on our dance floors! We recommend dressing in layers as we
keep the studios cool (on purpose) and it *will* get warm once you
start dancing!
What is your cancellation policy? GTK workshops are non
refundable. Obviously life can throw us curveballs, so if you are
not able to attend a lesson you've registered for due to
extenuating circumstances please let us know by emailing us at
dance@bazadance.com and
we'll be happy to help you out!
