“Muscle Energy Technique” Is an approach to assessment and treatment developed primarily by osteopaths using a collection of procedures that involve...
· A voluntary contraction of the client's muscle...
· In a precisely controlled direction…
· At varying levels of intensity…
· Against a distinctly executed counter force applied by the therapist...
Class presentation utilizes an extensive PowerPoint presentation accompanying the instructor’s lessons. Students will also receive a notebook of the presentation to refer to and use in their practice later.
Presentation includes detailed art images of a therapist performing each MET procedure & accompanying orthopedic testing with detailed instructions on the same slide for each procedure so students will be able to easily look up at the screen to follow and perform the interventions without having to refer to a small notebook copy while learning. This is primarily a hands-on class.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage is a great addition to a massage therapist’s toolbox in treating clients. Many therapists are faced with what to do when a client has developed slight to severe lymphedema due to medical conditions. In this class, participants will learn a sequence of applications that are necessary for effective lymphatic drainage to occur. The fundamentals of why and how lymphedema occurs will also be covered. This hands-on class will allow participants time to practice the techniques and understand the effectiveness that lymphatic drainage can have for a client’s health and well-being.
