Gum shields are used to protect the teeth during sparring.

Wearing a gum shield is a requirement for tournaments but optional for normal classes.

Available in 4 colours: Black, White, Red, or Clear.

These gum shield offer a basic level of protection and are most suitable for kids. For more protection, we recommend the OPRO gum shields instead.

Instructions for moulding

First, check that the gum shield fits comfortably in the mouth - place over the top teeth and see how it feels. If it's too big, then use scissors or sharp knife to shorten the ends.

Boil a kettle
Pour boiling water into a bowl

Place the gum shield in the hot water for 10 seconds

Take out and shake off excess water

Place gum shield on the top teeth, close the mouth, press firmly on it through the lip while sucking the air out.

After a few seconds, the plastic would cool and set form around the teeth. To test the effectiveness - open the mouth wide. If the gum shield falls off, then repeat the moulding process again.
