In this 4 part workshop, LG and Erica will take you deep into
some of the more fundamental advanced poses, helping you achieve
some essence of the posture, perhaps for the first time, and/or
helping you deepen your understanding and capacity to find your
fullest expression of each Asana. We will warm the body with some
fun and flowing vinjasa, and then get down to work (and mostly
PLAY) to explore a specific category of poses.
You can come to each session “A la Carte” or join us for all 4
at a discount!

Workshop#1 - SUN 2.2.25 - 3-5
PM - Shift your perspective with
strength and stability.
Focus:Full-body core strength and shoulder girdle
stability.
Poses: headstand, headstand variations, Bakasana (crow) and
crow variations
Workshop #2 - SAT 2.15.25 - 3-5
PM - Open your heart, from the ground
UP.
Focus: Hip opening, shoulder flexibility and
stability.
Poses: Bridge, Bridge variation, Full Wheel and Variations,
Full Wheel drop-back.
Workshop # 3 - SAT 3.8.25 - 3-5
PM - Fly Away. . . but stay grounded

Focus: Shoulder
strength and flexibility, core stability, fighting our
fears

Workshop #4 -
SAT 3.15.25 3-5 PM - Smooth Transitions and bringing
it hOMe
Focus: Begining to understand (or perhaps perfecting) your
transitions in sun salutations, and learning the closing series so
that you can practice safely and effectively.
Poses (/ Transitions): Jump back to Chaturungha, Jump
forward (perhaps playing with handstand) to top of mat.
Closing Series: Shoulder Stand, Plow, Knee to Ear, Fish

Shift
your perspective with strength and
stability.
Core-based Inversion and Arm
Balance
In this in-depth Inversion workshop, we will focus on how to
appropriately align our strength and stability, from the core
through the shoulder girdle to achieve, or master, several
fundamental inversion poses.
Focusing on Head-stand (and several headstand variations) as
well as crow pose (And several crow variations - Side crow,Eka
Pada, etc ) we will find the relationship between the strength of
our center (our CORE) and the stability of our base (our shoulder
girdle) in order to safely and effectively find each
posture.
A flowing vinyasa practice will ensure our bodies are warm and
the key muscle groups are open and engaged. We will then use a
series of postures individually, with partners, and using multiple
props - to help support us as we each build to finding our fullest
expression of each pose.

Open
your heart, from the ground up.
Backbends
In the second workshop of our series, we will move from
finding the strength in our center, to opening our heart as we
focus on deep backbends. Ensuring that the body is strong and
supple to safely practice each pose, we will spend ample time
opening the hips and both opening and stabilizing the
shoulders. We will then focus on Full Wheel and its
variations, including practicing drop-backs for those who are
ready. We will also play with Reverse Plank.
We will warm the body with a flowing and hip opening vinyasa
practice, and then ensure the body is prepared with a series
of floor back-bends, and shoulder opening exercises.
Participants will work together in partner poses, and props will be
used liberally to support us at each stage. Whether this is
your first time ever attempting wheel, or you are looking to try
dropping back for the first time, there will be substantial
opportunities to learn.
Series 3 Details SAT 2.15.25 -
3-5 PM
Fly Away. . .
but stay grounded !
Dolphin, Forearm Stand, Handstand, (+ Vashitasana,
Astavakrasna)
Handstand. - often the holy grail of those looking to deepen
their practice. We will get at it and play! The key to
Handstand is opening the shoulders WHILE keeping them stable, AND
not allowing our lower back flexiblity to become a cheat. The other
key is facing our fears! We will work on a LOT of shoulder strength
and stability through dolphin and pinchamayurasana (Forearm stand)
and then we will be ready to fly in handstand (or for those new to
inversions, try it against the wall for the first
time!) Partner poses and general support will make sure we
feel supported and ready!
Series 4 Details
SAT 3.8.25 -
3-5 PM
Smooth Transitions and bringing
it hOMe
We often don't have the time in class to really break down the
transitions of jumping back to chaturungha, and jumping forward
from Downdog. Here we will play with these in depth, using
the wall, and starting from handstand. Then, we will focus on
the traditional closing Series: Shoulder Stand, Plow, Knee to ear,
and fish pose. Ensuring we know how to set up safely and
effectively so that this series can become a meditative close to
our practice, whether we are in a class setting, or at home.
