Recording and Production Lab
For Teens and Adults Too
In
this project-based recording lab, students will
work on their own individual projects, under the guidance of an
instructor who will teach, troubleshoot, and advise in a very
hands-on way. In this ongoing weekly class you will have the
opportunity to run live recording sessions, track
overdubs, and mix and
master a final recording project.
We will meet you wherever you are in this process. In each weekly class, students and instructor will come up with specific tasks and goals for the following week; and you'll have the added benefit of learning from what your peers in the class are working on as well.

DAW instruction will be available in class.
•Work
in live recording sessions, and utilize the talents of your
classmates
•Guidance
throughout the mixing process and generally start to
finish
The
class will also learn/review the ins and outs of recording basics,
everything including running a digital workstation, mic'ing
techniques, recording basic tracks, overdubbing tracks, getting
levels, using plug-ins, planning and organizing a recording
project. We expect students will undoubtedly have some aptitude on
some instruments, and everyone will be encouraged to use one
another as a resource.
