We are excited to announce auditions for our prestigious ONE-YEAR Latin Dance Training Program, hosted by the Canadian Salsa Dance Corporation (CSDC)! Whether you are a seasoned professional, a semi-pro, an enthusiastic amateur, a dance lover, we welcome you to join us and explore the vibrant world of Latin dance.

**Our Mission**
The Canadian Salsa Dance Corporation (CSDC) is a non-profit organization that promotes Latin dance, music, and culture. Our goal is to build public appreciation for Latin dance styles and create opportunities for dancers of all ages and levels to network, study, gain exposure, and contribute to the growth of Latin dance.

**Our Principles**
1. We put our students at the heart of CSDC’s considerations, ensuring their needs and aspirations guide our teaching methods and program development.
2. We help our students understand the importance of discovering the type of artist they want to become and support them in achieving this by the time they graduate.
3. We train multi-skilled dancers who can adapt to the variety of choreographic languages found in Latin dance, thanks to a strong physical condition and experiences with a wide range of choreographers.
4. We encourage our students to know and trust themselves, enabling them to make meaningful contributions to the dance industry.
5. We help our students appreciate the fundamental connections between knowledge, conscience (the link between body and soul), and a safe and secure practice.
6. We offer challenging, creative, and custom-made learning experiences so our students fully enjoy their training.
7. Our mixed team consists of both permanent instructors, who follow each student’s evolution and ensure the basics are covered, and numerous guest choreographers and teachers, who provide authentic learning experiences.
8. We give our students the tools to better look at, understand, and appreciate Latin dance, teaching and choreography more generally.
9. We ensure our students engage with the dance community before they graduate, helping them to step into the professional milieu confidently.

Program Commitment:
This intensive one-year program demands a high level of dedication and commitment from all participants. Students are expected to engage in rigorous training sessions, workshops, and rehearsals, typically amounting up to 10 hours per week. Our curriculum includes:

Daily Technique Classes: Focusing on various Latin dance styles to build a strong foundation.
Choreography Workshops: Working with guest choreographers to learn and perform new routines.
Performance Opportunities: Regular showcases and public performances to gain stage experience.
Fitness and Conditioning: Ensuring students maintain peak physical condition.
Theory and History Classes: Understanding the cultural and historical context of Latin dance.
Professional Development: Preparing students for careers in dance, including audition techniques, resume building, and networking opportunities.

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn from experienced instructors, perform in front of an appreciative audience, and be part of a vibrant dance community.
