Description
Exploring Myofascial Release for Chest, Belly, and Back
Myofascial Release (MFR) involves working with your fascial tissue and your muscles to bring them to optimal health. You may have experienced massage therapy or active trigger point release that work on the same principles that are used in this workshop.
We will use tools to work the tissues to help bring hydration, release adhesions, increase circulation, and restore the elastic potential. This will help you to move with ease through your day-to-day activities and can have positive impacts on your yoga practice and other movement-based exercises.
The workshop will include myofascial work and gentle stretching of the areas worked. In this workshop we will use MFR to explore the chest, belly, and back using the RAD Centre. The RAD Centre is an inflatable ball that gives a broad and soft touch and allows for a gentle massage of your internal organs. The RAD Centre is included in the price of the workshop and is yours to take home to continue on your MFR journey.
MFR improves blood flow and releases restricted muscles which helps your body feel better and function properly. It has been shown to increase flexibility and enhance recovery from exercise, it can help with blood and lymphatic circulation, and can having calming effects on your nervous system. MFR can aid in athletic performance and can be performed before and after exercise. Before exercise, MFR will increase tissue elasticity, range of motion and blood flow. This will help you move better during your exercise and protect you from injury. Post-exercise, MFR is a great way to enhance recovery. By stimulating blood flow in affected areas, you’ll dramatically increase oxygen to your sore muscle fibers and reduce recovery time.
