Dawn-MarieDescription
7:00pm EDT
This is an online, 18+, adult group geared toward individuals who discovered their neurodivergent identity as an adult. The basic idea is that we can all support each other as we learn more about how our brains and bodies function as neurodivergent people.
Both group leaders, Dawn-Marie Solais(she/they) and Nym
Dawson(they/them), are late discovery individuals who work in
coaching and advocacy for neurodivergent people. Not only do they
have their own lived experiences to draw on, but they both have
extensive professional experience to bring in support of the late
identity discovery/dx journey.
Join us on the 3rd Monday of each month to listen to and share
stories of both hardship, accomplishment, knowledge, and more. This
support group is free of charge.
Attn: This is not
a therapy group. Neither group leader is a therapist. This is a
mutual support effort. By signing up, you acknowledge that any
advice given is from a fellow neurodivergent person and is not at
all intended to be a demand or directive. Following advice from
group leaders or participants is at the discression of each group
member, who is therefore solely responsible for outcomes.
Sharing times may be limited. The group will be moderated to create safe and affirming space for all.
Special Instructions
Welcome! We are so excited that you'll be joining us.
We will share the rules for participation at the beginning of each
group meeting. Each meeting will also have a topic for discussion.
On occation, we may invite special guests to share during our
meetings.
Rules for participation are:
1. All participants will strive to support a fully inclusive and
judgment free environment.
2. Moderators/group leaders will help participants share ideas in
ways that will maintain the harmony of the group
3. Participants will refrain from cross talk, interrupting, and
calling other out.
4. Participants will ask group permission to share potentially
triggering stories or information. We understand that most of us
will have traveled through trauma, but as this is not a therapy
group, the moderators are not equipped to assist with traumatic
events and how the group may respond.
5. Participants agree to abide by the time limit for sharing and
will stop talking when asked, even if there is still sharing time
remaining.
6. By participating in any group session, you acknowledge that
these group meetings are not therapy sessions. Neither group leader
is a therapist. This is a mutual support effort. By signing up, you
acknowledge that any advice given is from a fellow neurodivergent
person and is not at all intended to be a demand or directive.
Following advice from group leaders or participants is at the
discretion of each group member, who is therefore solely
responsible for outcomes.
