Baila Kids Latin-Creative Dance Camp
2025
Dive into a summer of rhythm and creativity at our Kids Camp! With Latin beats of salsa, bachata, merengue, cumbia, and cha cha, your child will experience a dynamic blend of dance, tumbling, crafting, drawing, music, and storytelling. Our dedicated instructors create a safe and vibrant space for exploration and growth. The week culminates in a dazzling Thursday Showcase, where your little ones proudly share their newfound skills.

What is Latin-Creative dance?
- Latin dances will be the main dance style taught to kids
including salsa, bachata, merengue and cha-cha.
- There will be a mix of kids friendly songs in English and
Spanish as well as kids appropriate latin style music.
- We will introduce latin movements associated with the music
in a fun way.
- We will also be teaching easy Spanish terminologies related
to dance such as “baila (dance), rapido/lento (fast/slow),
derecha/izqueirda (left/right), arriba/abajo (up/down), feliz
(happy) etc.”
Content:
- Introduction to Latin music, movements and
sounds
- Warm-up in circle time to learn about our
bodies
- Active dance time to move and have
fun!
- Practice a simple choreography for
showcase
- Learning simple Spanish word related to
dance
- Using hands, feet, sticks, and other
'instruments' to make music
- Quiet time with art and craft
- Circle time to share what we have learned each
day
Goal: Our aim is to provide a safe, fun and
comfortable space for children to dance, move their body, play with
rhythm and learn some basic latin style movements.
Class Size:
- Minimum 3; Max 12
- Each age group will be with one lead instructor.
- Classes will be held in the same space. Some activities will
be separated into age groups and some are together.

- Door open at 9:15am.
- Showcase:
Thursday from 3:00-3:30pm. Students present what they have learned
to the rest of the class and their invited
parents/adults.
- Backpack, water bottle, snacks and lunch.
- Jazz shoes for indoor dancing
- Sunscreen and hat for the park.
- Report any allergies and other concerns to head teacher
ahead of time.
What to Wear:
What to Wear:
- Cloth: Wear comfortable clothing in layers. We will have one
park trip per day.
- Shoes: Runners and Jazz shoes preferred for indoor dance
activities.
- Please no shorts or dresses. If wearing shorts please make
sure it is long enough to cover the knees.We will be doing dancing,
tumbling and other physical activites that require floor movement.
Wearing pants will prevent our students from scraping their
knees.
