Yoga Nidra is an accessible style of yogic meditation that offers pregnant and postpartum folks a powerful opportunity to relax the mind either in preparation for birth or amidst the transition period afterwards.
Often called “yogic sleep” Yoga Nidra is an ancient meditation
practice that allows practitioners to rest in a space between being
asleep and being awake. This state of conscious relaxation soothes
your parasympathetic nervous system and activates
your subconscious mind, leaving you feeling restored and
inspired even after just 20 minutes of practice.
This is an incredibly useful and practical tool for everyone, and
particularly new mothers and mothers to be, especially those who
may be struggling with difficulty sleeping. Nurturing oneself
allows us to better nurture those around us. We will begin our
session with some gentle asana (movement) followed by a guided
restorative Yoga Nidra session. Leave with a feeling of wellbeing,
rejuvenation, and a free recording to take home and help you
achieve this state on your own.
