Semiclassical dance builds on the rich traditions of both Indian classical dance forms and Bollywood and fuses them together, resulting in beautifully intricate movements and expressive storytelling set to some of the most classic Bollywood songs of all time. This course is especially designed for those interested in working on the basics of the semiclassical style, improving their familiarity with classical fundamentals, building strength and flexibility, incorporating expressions and movement dynamics, and performing a choreography. Students will work on bite-size themes in each class and work toward a choreography at the end, and have the opportunity to be part of a Live2Dance student video production in the last class!
