Kelly Bale has been a valued member of Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet School’s Recreational Division since 2003 when she first joined the Artistic Faculty as a ballet teacher. Her passion for the artform and exceptional professionalism led to her appointment as School Principal in 2005, a role she held until 2015. During this time, her experience helped strengthen the School and guided numerous students on to professional and post-secondary dance programs including the RWB School Professional Division, the National Ballet School, the School of Alberta Ballet and Arts Umbrella.
In addition to being a highly regarded dance festival adjudicator, Ms. Bale has taught throughout Canada at studios including Conservatory of Music and Dance 5678 Dance Studio, Queen’s University Dance Club, and the RWB Recreational and Professional Divisions. She was also a member of the board for the Alliance for Arts Education in Manitoba.
Ms. Bale has been a jury member for the RWB Professional Division’s First Steps Choreographic Competition. She has also performed professionally with the Company in Swan Lake in the role of Queen Mother. Ms. Bale received her classical ballet training with Brazilian pedagogue Ana Maria Campos at the Conservatory of Music and Dance in Regina, SK. During her training, she also took part in various programs such as the Quinte Ballet School and the Banff Centre for the Arts.
Ms. Bale ultimately decided that her path was teaching and was accepted into the RWB Teacher Training Program where she graduated with Distinction in 2000. Ms. Bale holds her Licentiate accreditation with the Cecchetti Canada where she is also is a committee member of the Manitoba branch. She was an instructor with the Royal Academy of Dance for over ten years.
