Cupping is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which the therapist applies specialized cups that create suction to the body in either static positions or as a moving tool. These cups are used to help reduce pain from muscular tightness and adhesions, reduction of inflammation, increasing blood flow, and is often a good modality for those who require deep tissue massage or tend to not get much benefit from traditional massage. Our massage therapists practice different styles of cupping (such as traditional static cupping, cupping massage, or a combination of both) depending on their background and training. We offer this as a combined treatment with a massage appointment. Before your appointment, your massage therapist will talk to you regarding your goals for the session as well as their application of techniques and will answer any questions you may have about the service.
