Description
Rotational Power & Upper Extremity Resilience Workshop (Ages 12–18)
This workshop focuses on teaching athletes how to enhance their rotational power and reduce the risk of injury in the upper extremities geared towards sports like baseball, softball, lacrosse, tennis, and more.
· Active Dynamic Warm-up for Rotational Athletes: Priming the body for rotational movements by emphasizing mobility in the hips, thoracic spine, and shoulders.
· Rotational Mechanics & Technique Breakdown - Learn the foundation of Rotation and how to efficiently utilize the kinetic chain to produce power with specific adjustments to your sequencing.
· Proteus Motion Testing & the Three Key Metrics
1. Peak Force Output = The maximum amount of force generated during a rotational movement
2. Rate of Force Development (RFD) = How quickly an athlete can generate force from the start of a movement to its peak.
3. Concentric & Eccentric Power = Power produced during both the “pushing/accelerating” (concentric) and “resisting/slowing down” (eccentric) phases of a movement
· Strength & Power Drills: Reinforcing power transfer and integrating lower-body and trunk strength to support rotational movements.
· Arm Care & Shoulder Stability = Rib Cage Positioning: Setting the foundation for healthy scapular position on the rib cage in the proper position to assist the scapula.
Scapular Control Drills: Emphasizing proper scapular movement to support overhead activities and protect shoulder joints.
Forearm Habits: Setting good habits for working and maintaining the forearm to support a healthy elbow and prevent injuries
