Begin on slabs of clay painting flat tiles to learn different techniques like:

• painting like you would on canvas only using clay as your canvas

• sgraffito (scratching a design into underglaze appilcation to create a pos/neg drawing)

• slip trailing (drawing with a slip pen on the clay to have a drawing that is raised)

• drawing with glaze pencils

There are many techniques, we will focus on one or two a month. This is a great class to take in addition to a wheel or handbuilding class.

Once techniques are taught we can begin making pieces and applying our techniques to these hand-built creations.

Must be in 3rd grade or older to attend this class.
