Troubleshooting: Discount code does not work

There could be a number of reasons why your discount code does not work. Check through the most likely issues below.

  • Wrong discount code — In case you entered the wrong code, try again. You can verify that you have the correct code by checking its settings.
  • Wrong instance of Event — If you are booking an Event, check that the discount code is applicable to that instance of the Event in the discount code’s settings.
  • Item is not eligible for that discount code — The code you are using is only applicable to certain Purchase Options (such as a session pass, or an appointment) or certain products (such as a gym bag, or a yoga mat rental). Check the settings for your discount code.
  • Discount code not activated — Discount codes are usually only available for a certain period of time. Check the start date for the discount code in your settings.
  • Discount code has expired — Discount codes are usually only available for a certain period of time. Check the end date for the discount code in your settings.
  • Not available for online sales — The discount code you are using could be restricted to transactions performed at the Point of Sale (POS). You cannot apply them to an online transaction. To allow your clients to use a discount code online, you must select the Allow for online sales check box in the discount code settings.
  • Only available for certain Client Types — The discount code you are using could be restricted to certain Client Types, such as monthly members, and active pass holders. Check the settings for your discount code.
  • Exceeded the maximum usage — Discount codes can be set to a single use, multiple use, and unlimited use. Firstly, check the number of uses set for your discount code in your settings. Secondly, check if the client has used the discount code against a purchase in the client’s profile.
    • To check if a discount code was applied to a pass, membership or gift card, select the Passes and Memberships tab. Look for the discount code in each Purchase Option (next to the price).
    • To check if a discount code was applied to a product, select the Purchases tab. Look for the discount code in the DISCOUNT CODE column.
  • Exceeded maximum number of items in shopping cart — The maximum number of items to which you can apply a discount code is 128 items. Try splitting the items over multiple sale transactions instead.
