Restorative Yoga, Massage and Reiki

This 2 hour workshop incorporates Restorative Yoga and Reiki, a combination that will guide your mind and body to a deeper state of relaxation. Breathing and meditation techniques to calm the mind and props will be used to allow for a gentle, passive stretch. No experience necessary. This is a “no work” workshop. What a great way to introduce someone new to yoga. Come pamper yourself with a total mind/body escape.
What is Reiki? Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person.

This workshop is for women of all ages whether you are preparing for, in or post menopause. The way we exercise, eat and sleep changes at different stages of life. Throughout these stages our hormones change, and it is important to have the knowledge and tools to continue to thrive and maintain healthy lifestyles.
In this workshop we will cover:
- Why exercise does not always equate to weight loss.
- The benefits of adding weights to a mindful yoga practice.
- The most beneficial exercises for different ages and how to start a program that suits current needs?
- How bodies are affected by sleep and the importance of circadian rhythms.
- Which foods, herbs and spices are phytoestrogens and which increase progesterone.
- How to use the wisdom of Ayurveda to help balance your imbalances (doshas), ignite your digestion (agni) and transition from your Pitta stage of life to Vata in a balanced way (alas balancing your changing hormones naturally).
- The benefits of meditation and how to build a daily practice.
- This workshop will include all levels of yoga sculpt, restorative yoga and meditation.
- Please be sure to wear comfortable clothing and be prepared for time on the mat.
