This session
includes 17 rehearsals plus 2 or more
performances!
This band meets rehearses every Sunday 3-4:15pm, except for
the following dates:
Sunday, January 19th: MLK Weekend (does not meet)
Sunday, February 16th: President's Day Weekend (does not
meet)
Sunday, March 16th: 2pm rehearsal and 3:15-3:45pm workshop

Sunday, April 13th: Spring Break (does not meet)
Sunday, April 20th: Spring Break (does not meet)
First Practice: Sunday, January 12th
Last Practice: Sunday, June 8th
Performance Dates:
Jazz and Jam (Every 1st Friday of the Month): The band can
choose one or two dates to play 2 songs with the house band. They
can play another 2 songs on a separate set. Students must attend
the house band's set in order to play.
Band Workship Performance: Sunday, March 16th at 3:15pm (your
rehearsal will move to 2pm on this day only)
Fiesta Hermosa Performance: Monday, May 26th (time TBD)
Additional Performances may be scheduled.

The session includes:
- 13 rehearsals with a director and guest teachers
- 2 performances
- Jam sessions at Barsha (as much as you want)
- Performance Workshop
- Performace at Barsha and/or on the Final Band Showcase
- Webpage hosting your sheet music, refence materials, schedule, etc.
Participation in group band is extremely powerful and we have seen our students experience profound development in countless areas. The primary goal for this class is to give everyone experience in playing various styles of jazz music. Ensemble members will work on:
- Playing a variety of jazz styles (swing, Latin, funk, fusion, Bossa, etc. )
- Comping
- Improvisation
- Chart reading
- On the spot arranging
- Cuing musically and visually
