SCHEDULING NOTE: There are 8 scheduled weekly one-hour group lesson times prior to the showcase, in May and June, then there is an almost three week break between June 24 and the week of the showcase on July 11. Additional rehearsals will likely be scheduled at mutually agreed upon times and at the instructor's discretion during this break. A dress rehearsal will be held in the studio during the week before the show. All scheduled group lessons and additional rehearsals, as well as participation in the show, are included in the session fee.
PERFORMANCE COMMITMENT: By registering for this session you are committing to attending all sessions and practices, learning the choreography and performing in the showcase. It is very important for the experience of everyone in the troupe that you commit to attending all sessions. Your troupe mates are counting on you! If you miss more than one of the weekly sessions (due to illness or emergency), you may be asked to practice on your own time to catch up, or to drop out of the troupe, without refund, on a case-by-case basis.
ADDITIONAL INVESTMENT FOR COSTUMES: Troupe participants will be expected to purchase or make a costume for the performance. While every effort will be made to keep costume costs affordable (we love recycling and DIY!), it could cost $50 - 100+. This cost is NOT included in the troupe fee and should be budgeted for when deciding to join the troupe. Should a student have to drop out of the performance for any reason after the instructor or studio has incurred expenses for group costumes on their behalf, the student will still be expected to reimburse these expenses.
Pricing: Group Performance Troupes are priced the same as curriculum classes, though you receive quite a bit more value with the extra rehearsals and the performance. Students may register using 8-Week Curriculum Class purchase options or using their membership curriculum class credits. If registering for this troupe in addition to your regular curriculum classes, you will receive a 10% discount.

Performance is optional for this series. However, you will be asked after the first class to commit to performing or not, and in which show(s), so that Sassy can choreograph appropriately. If you choose not to perform, you will still be able to participate in the class and learn all the choreography but you may not be taught some formation work. If you do choose to perform, please note that you are committing to attending all sessions and rehearsals, learning the choreography, and performing in the show(s).
SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT ADULT CONTENT: Burlesque dance generally involves strip-tease elements and choreography and techniques taught may involve stripping down to bottoms and pasties. Sassy is a ferocious advocate of empowering people to love and celebrate their bodies, no matter their shape, size, age, or ability, and she creates a safe and supportive environment in which to explore this. That said, nobody who participates in this class will be pressured to go beyond where they feel safe in that exploration. You will always have the choice to opt out of or adapt any part of class or the choreography that you do not wish to participate in, without pressure or judgment.
PRICING Students may register using 8-Week Curriculum Class purchase options or using their membership curriculum class credits. Please see note about student commitment and additional investment in the Special Instructions section.
