Executive Director
Yoga Central
Mianna Morrison grew up in the wilds of Colorado, foraging, herding goats, and honing survival skills. They found the meditative side of Yoga early in life but only began to explore the physical after a recommendation by a physician and friend. Mianna began practicing in their kitchen and living room. They wanted to learn more, and found Yoga Central via Google. They began attending classes and fell in love with the practice and local community. Mianna completed Yoga Teacher Training with Mike Curtis and Rhonda Kuster and is in a 300-hour training now. A Marine veteran, Mianna has a passion for facilitating yoga for the veteran and active-duty community. After seeing Yoga and Reiki help immensely with their injuries, physical and mental, Mianna hopes to see other veterans find their path to healing. They hope to help people to find their own internal healing ability. They have a deep passion for the spiritual and mental aspects of Yoga, alongside the physical. They believe that both go hand in hand. After witnessing the dramatic improvement in their own mental, physical, and spiritual health with Reiki treatments, Mianna decided to become a certified Reiki practitioner. They love practicing Reiki as a standalone treatment as well as incorporating it into Yoga. When not facilitating Yoga or Reiki, Mianna enjoys spending time with their family, wandering about in nature, exploring philosophy, engaging in internal self-exploration, non-substance-induced altered states of consciousness, and spending time with their pets. Mianna enjoys teaching gentle, moderate, power yoga, practicing Reiki, PTSD-aware, and military veteran-oriented yoga. They also enjoy teaching martial arts aimed at the prevention of larger violence, aiming to protect and dispel conflict rather than encourage it.
