Hometown: Westborough, MA Favorite inspirational quote: It is not happy people who are thankful. It is thankful people who are happy. When/where/with who was your first yoga class? First Yoga class was a restorative yoga class in Boston in 2000. What /who inspires you? When an individual or a community or the world is suffering, I am most inspired by the innate kindness of humanity in these moments. There is an energy that results in selfless acts of giving and even just bearing witness to the suffering. To me, there is nothing more inspiring or beautiful than watching the human spirit in times of need. What I love most about yoga is: For me, Yoga insists that I look inward. It challenges my thought patterns, my beliefs, and my energy. Yoga is the mirror that reminds me to live my truth. What you can’t live without? My family, my spirituality, my values and my freedom that allows me to have all of that. And if we are really being honest, chocolate too. What you might not know about me: I am an Independently Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I oversee a large mental health treatment facility for adolescents in Framingham, MA. Best advice you’ve ever received (from who?): "Everyone has a story that you know nothing about". This advice came from Shawn Shaw during my yoga training and I have repeated it 1000 times since. It reminds to slow down, suspend judgement, be aware of my ego and respond with compassion in all situations. Favorite Book: This question is always so hard! I would say "I Know This Much Is True" by Wally Lamb or The Alchemist By Paulo Coelho Favorite Word: Surrender Local escape: My backyard because its filled with beautiful hiking trails My favorite thing to do(other than yoga): Spending time outdoors with my two beautiful twins, cooking, reading and taking photos.
