Open Doors Yoga - Duxbury

For as long as Mike can remember, he sought ways to stay physically active—running, experimenting with different workouts, and exploring fitness. At one point, Mike picked up a yoga book to improve his flexibility, but couldn’t quite grasp how to ease into the postures.  Frustrated, he went back to the workouts he was more familiar with. Years later, a friend invited Mike to a hot yoga class at Open Doors in Easton. He admits that he was just happy to make it through! He had no idea what he just did, but something kept drawing him back, class after class. The physical challenges of power yoga immediately captivated him, and they still do. Over time, though, he began to truly appreciate the restorative magic of savasana, discovering that yoga is much more than a workout; it’s a journey inward.  Now, he thrives on the variety that yoga offers—from the intensity of power yoga to the calming pace of slow flow, yin, and restorative practices. He loves exploring the workshops instructors bring to life and learning more about the body and self through every practice. Yoga has shown him that the journey of self-discovery is endless and rewarding.  As a yoga teacher, Mike strives to create a unique class every week, encouraging students to explore postures, build strength, and embrace mindfulness. Mike continues to learn every day, always searching for deeper connections within his own practice and within the limits of his body. In his classes, he aims to challenge students both physically and mentally, while fostering an awareness that every body is unique. Above all, he encourages students to honor their individual needs and take what they most require from each class.
