The waters that connect the island of Cebu to the west coast of Turtle Island is my ocean. I have grown under the protection of Mt. Tahoma and the mountains of Tongva and Chumash peoples. I have been nourished at the banks of the Duwamish river. My ancestors are Ilocana, Visayan, Xicana, Chiricahua-Apache, and more unnamed. Therefore, I am bakla, I am trans*formational and the name given to me is Rafael/a Luna-Pizano. I have practiced a combination of energetic and biodynamic bodywork for the last 13 years, culminating in somatic presence and craniosacral therapy. My bodywork practice is informed by my experience as a capoerista, a danzante, and a lover of sound. I am excited to offer place-practices to movement communities as a way to (re)connect with our honorable ancestors and their vision to restore our relationships with land and water. Thank you for reading, moving and listening!
