Shaylee Befus

Adaptive Exercise Specialist

NeuAbility

NeuAbility

Shaylee Befus was born and raised in Brighton, Colorado. Her experiences with injuries early in her athletic career initiated her interest in utilizing exercise as medicine and also her path to medical school. She played beach volleyball at Jacksonville University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology while on the premed track. She continued to pursue these passions through a thesis-based Masters in Kinesiology and internships as a research assistant. Shaylee started volunteering at NeuAbility to receive clinical care within a diverse patient population. She fell in love with both the community and the evidence-based practices used in sessions, prompting her commitment to a part-time position. Her hope is to continue to serve those at NeuAbility while using these experiences to inform the care and advocacy she plans to provide in her future endeavors as a physician. Shaylee also works as a youth beach volleyball coach and enjoys competing locally in her free time as well as strength training, spending time with family and pets, and reading.
