Marise Zimmerman, MAAT, ATR-BCMarise Zimmermann is an art therapist, Board Certified by the ATCB (Art Therapy Credential Board), a SoulCollage Facilitator, and an artist-photographer. She has a Master of the Arts in Art Therapy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She was a pioneer of art therapy in the South of Brazil and has presented her work in conferences and workshops in both countries. Marise was the supervisor of the Expressive Arts Therapy Department at the John Muir Behavioral Health Center for 13 years; she has a comprehensive knowledge of the theories and clinical skills used in art therapy. Her work focuses in developing healthy strategies, emotional resilience and empowerment through the art making and creative process. The exploration of different perspectives and possibilities when managing life experiences creates new dialogues and improves the quality of life for individuals, their families and their communities.
