The Mat stretch and balance class will combine classical and contemporary Pilates mat work, as well as combinations of adaptable full-body sculpting exercises with a strong focus on conditioning, form,control and balance. Each week the class will vary between the classical mat flow which integrates transitions and tempo into an invigorating session; or it will blend traditional and contemporary mat work with combinations of Pilates-based sculpting moves. Sculpting routines will include adaptable versions of squats, lunges, planks and lower/upper body work – different exercise options and variations will be offered to students to modify and/or challenge the body. Various props will be utilized including magic circles, hand weights, big and small balls, therabands, and foam rollers.
