Bob Grant is a versatile guitarist, mandolinist, and educator from Long Island, New York, whosemusical journey began at the age of 10. He played in various bands throughout high school beforeattending the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. After graduating, Bobrelocated to Austin, Texas, where he performed stage productions of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Hair, and soon embraced the mandolin. This led to him joining the pioneering alternative bluegrass band, The Bad Livers, with whom he toured extensively throughout the 1990s.In the late 90s, Bob returned to New York, where he continued performing across the NYmetropolitan area while working with Music Sales Publishing. He contributed transcription work topopular music publications like Guitar World and Frets, and authored six instructional books on guitar and mandolin for Music Sales/Hal Leonard.In 2000, Bob moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and quickly found himself performing on the iconicGrand Ole Opry stage with country legend Gale Davies. His musical career flourished as he shared the stage with a wide variety of artists spanning country, rock, bluegrass, punk, and alt-country genres, with performances taking him as far as Europe and Asia.Now with over 25 years of performing and teaching experience in middle Tennessee, Bob hasmade a name for himself locally, particularly with his Sunday gospel band at the world-famous Station Inn alongside Val Storey, Larry Cordle, and Mike Rogers.Recently, Bob and his wife, a talented singer, Val Storey, have settled in Gallatin, continuing toshare their passion for music with the Nashville community.
