About the Class

Tantric yoga practice is rooted in the Sri Vidya tradition of the Himalayan Masters. Each practice incorporates slow, dynamic movement organized around the primal force of breath - gateway to our higher consciousness. Additional tools may include bandha, mudra, and mantra, all woven in to increase our strength, vibrancy, and connection to inner light. Asana is followed by savasana, pranayama and kriya – a tantric form of meditation that links visualization with breath to further purify the mind. All practices culminate with meditation, the deeper process of inner transformation. In these quiet moments of stillness, we remember the ease and joy of our own higher self.  We ‘wake up’ to what is always present within us.   TANTRA: Tan means to expand, to weave, and tra means to protect, to be free from sorrow, to help one move away from afflictions. The approach of Tantric yoga, therefore, is to weave together various techniques that free us from our suffering – physical, mental, spiritual - while helping us to expand our capacity and joy in life.
