Prenatal Yoga

CLOSED

About the Class

Prenatal Yoga creates an awareness of your mind, body, breath and the spirit of the baby. This makes it ideal preparation for the birthing experience. Breathing practice during pregnancy opens the chest and helps to improve circulation for you and baby. It also calms the nerves and prepares for greater control of breathing during labour.  Community is the foundation of the series, bringing pregnant folks together to connect and share their experiences. Whether it is the experience of the class or pregnancy, space is made to share and connect with one another. Strength is developed physically and emotionally. The asanas (postures) used in each class are meant to strengthen the body while embracing the changes happening within. Common Questions When can I begin prenatal yoga? You can begin at any point during your pregnancy. If you have concerns please consult with your physician. Do you have yoga mats? We have mats & props that can be borrowed, but many like bringing their own mats. Do you have a changing room? Yes, we have a washroom to change in. What should I wear? Anything that you feel comfortable in. Comfortable pants or shorts, a tank top or a t-shirt. Something that is breathable and that will allow you to move. What do I need? Mat, props to support you (ie. cushion, blanket), water, a journal to make notes for yourself
