The MIG Welding 1 class with Curtis was excellent! Curtis was extremely knowledgable about the technical details as well as the techniques, and was able to explain everything clearly, answer all of our questions, and guide us through our own first welds. You get the knowledge of a professor and the skills of a true craftsman. And he made the class fun and entertaining! We are already signed up for MIG Welding 2. Highly recommended.
Overall this was a great class and experience - our instructor was knowledgeable, engaging and attentive. I'd definitely recommend this intro class to friends.
The only things I would change were logistical.
A reminder was sent via text and email 3 hours before the class. That's great but it was an 11am class on a Sunday - so if I had forgotten about the class and slept in - I may have missed it. I'd definitely send a reminder the day before and then maybe again 3 hours before.
There were 6 participants in the class - but not 6 sets of tongs. Sharing an anvil wasn't hard - but switching the tongs back and forth got frustrating.
I took MIG 1 and 2 from Curtis. He is very knowledgeable and has a literal lifetime of experience, and gave us thorough explanations and demonstrations of the different welds. I felt safe and confident with instruction from Curtis (though I could always use more practice)!
Curtis was my instructor for The Mig classes #1 and #2.
He is very knowledgeable, safety first and very experienced instructor.
He is also very concern and detailed to the "dos and don'ts" to prevent accidents due to the nature of welding equipment.
I wish I had a little more time hand on but it will come with practice to be better.
Hopefully, I get to sign for the Arc Welding membership so I can practice since I already have the knowledge of part 1 and 2.
I highly recommend to take both courses.

After messing around trying to learn welding on my own with YouTube videos I decided to participate in the Arc Academy Five-Day Boot Camp. While I understood the basics, I needed to get some hands-on help. It was the best decision ever! Curtis and Steve were my teachers and in five days I was able to attain basic proficiency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. No, I didn't become an expert, but I did learn how to be better and better with practice. Curtis and Steve are expert welders, but even more importantly, they knew how to teach welding. I strongly recommend the classes at Arc Academy! (I am a sculptor in stone expanding out into large metal sculptures.)
Had an amazing time. The instructor was very knowledgeable and personable. Definitely planning on taking the Mig 2 class!
I took the MIG1 class this weekend and had a great time. Our instructor , Curtis, was great. He explained the fundamentals in a simple way and the hands-on projects helped solidify that knowledge. When explaining why and how, he did it in a manner for everyone to grasp. He took time to connect to each student , and used this connection to help each of us come away with a better knowledge and experience to build on. He encouraged us as we did the projects and took the time to explain what we were doing right and what we had to improve on. Then we would use that to try again. The class was not rushed and we all learned from each other. The time was well spent and I can't thank Curtis and Arc Academy enough for this opportunity. Great Job.
Can’t possibly say enough good things about the program and the instructor. Patient, knowledgeable and very engaging. Worth every penny!
The MIG 2 class with Curtis was a great way to expand upon what we learned in the first class. We learned how to use the plasma cutter, tack our pieces together, and various weave patterns for laying down a good looking, solid weld. Curtis has been welding for his entire life, and it shows in how knowledgeable he is! Great class, can't wait to take more.
