Yoga Light Studio Improves the Client Experience with WellnessLiving’s Virtual Tools
The ability to efficiently pivot from in-person to online teaching was one of the biggest takeaways for a lot of WellnessLiving clients when the pandemic forced them to shut their doors almost two years ago. While everyone was faced with navigating a “new normal,” the staff at Yoga Light Studio were trying to ensure a sense of consistency and familiarity through the yoga practice for their clients.
In this edition of the CEO Tour, join Len Fridman, CEO and co-founder of WellnessLiving, in his hometown of Vaughan, as he meets virtually with Nancy Salerno, owner of Yoga Light Studio. Discover how Nancy helped her clients stay consistent with their yoga practice during the pandemic by using WellnessLiving’s FitVID on Demand and FitLIVE.

Meet Nancy Salerno, Owner of Yoga Light Studio
Nancy wasn’t immediately drawn to yoga for its spiritual and mental benefits. At first, she simply enjoyed the physical benefits it gave her, but after practicing on a regular basis she discovered that for the first time in her life, she was able to feel a sense of stillness.
As a litigation lawyer in the GTA, Nancy led a busy and stressful life, and found that as she increased her practice of yoga, she could increase the duration of that sense of stillness. She soon grew frustrated that she was unable to find quality yoga classes in her hometown and decided to make a huge career change to solve that problem. Nancy opened Yoga Light Studio in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada in 2016. Yoga Light Studio quickly became a favorite among yogis across the GTA because of their qualified instructors and advanced yoga offerings.
Yoga Light offers a variety of yoga classes but is known for offering their clients more challenging options for yogis who want to step up their practice. From Hot Yoga to Restorative Yoga, Yoga Light Studio has something for everyone, at every level.
How did Yoga Light Studio transition online?
When the pandemic forced yoga and fitness facilities to close their doors in 2020, Nancy knew that to survive, they would have to be willing to change. “Success is about the willingness to just work with uncertainty and being prepared,” says Nancy.
Although most studios are offering in-person classes again and have dropped capacity restrictions, not everyone is ready to go back. Now as a hybrid yoga studio, Yoga Light Studio offers both in-person and online options for clients who prefer to work out at home. Fortunately, Nancy had WellnessLiving’s virtual tools to manage her livestreams and video recordings.
Virtual Tools
When businesses started to move to virtual offerings, WellnessLiving implemented a Zoom integration to make the transition as easy as possible for customers. In 2021, we upgraded to FitLIVE—our fully-integrated livestreaming service that automatically records livestreams and then uploads them to the FitVID on Demand video library so clients can view content anytime they want.
“Even for those who chose to come back to the studio, many of them still practice with us online. With WellnessLiving’s virtual tools, clients can maintain a consistent yoga practice with their favorite instructors,” says Nancy. “We just wish we switched over to WellnessLiving sooner!”
What else does Yoga Light Studio love about WellnessLiving?
Initially, Nancy decided to make the switch to WellnessLiving because the price was right. As she began to use the software, she realized there were many other amazing features and benefits, especially WellnessLiving’s Customer Service Team.
“On the few occasions that we needed help navigating the software, the team at Wellnessliving was always readily available to assist, in real time,” Nancy says, “We just wish we had switched over sooner.”
With so many features, it’s hard to choose a favorite
When asked to choose her favorite WellnessLiving feature, Nancy can’t choose just one.
“I love that it’s intuitive and easy to use,” says Nancy. “I don’t think I’ve ever had to look something up. Plus, I can turn on the software and figure out what to do by using the icons.” The primary goal of WellnessLiving’s team of designers is to make the software as user-friendly as possible.
