WellnessLiving Donates $5,000 to Pakistan Floods Appeal of the Canadian Red Cross
With torrential monsoon rains triggering the most severe floods in recent history, Pakistan has declared a state of emergency.
This year’s monsoon season in Pakistan has dropped 600% more rain than average, causing catastrophic floods and landslides, killing nearly 1,400 people and impacting over 33 million people, including 16 million children, across the country.
Since June 14, 2022, the rain and flash flooding has damaged more than a million homes in Balochistan, Punjab, and Sindh provinces, destroying thousands of kilometers of roadways and killing over half a million livestock. One-third of Pakistan is now underwater. By September 9, 2022, more than 664,000 people were sheltered in displacement camps, with many lacking the proper sanitation or access to clean water and food.
The Canadian Red Cross Emergency Response Team have joined the Pakistan Red Cresent Society at the forefront of life-saving response efforts, providing:
- Relief items, including blankets, tarpaulins, tents, mosquito nets, water containers, and hygiene supplies.
- Proper sanitation, safe drinking water, and cooking supplies.
- Critical funding to help communities recover and rebuild their homes, businesses, and livelihoods.

Once the flood waters begin to recede, water-borne diseases mean that the emergency is far from over. The scale of the disaster means more help is needed.
WellnessLiving is doing everything possible to support their team in Pakistan. In addition, WellnessLiving has donated $5,000 to the Pakistan Floods Appeal of the Canadian Red Cross.
“Our hearts go out to all our employees and their families, and everyone affected by the most severe Pakistan floods in recent history,” says Len Fridman, WellnessLiving CEO and co-founder. “We know these are difficult times and we’re grateful to be able to support the Red Cross in the relief efforts.”
