7 reasons Health & Beauty business owners should attend industry events
It’s hard to figure things out all on your own. Here’s why you should attend at least one industry event annually.
1. Stay ahead of industry trends
Conference organizers curate the entire event for you. You don’t have to guess which trends matter or worry about missing out on emerging technologies. You’ll be able to explore the most innovative treatments, injectables, and devices.
2. Network with other professionals
Attending events lets you connect with experts, discover potential partners or suppliers, and gain valuable insights from experienced practitioners. Networking also creates a supportive community where you can share experiences and learn from fellow wellness center or MediSpa owners.
3. Gain insight into competitor strategies
When you’re busy running your own medical spa, it’s difficult to make time to spy on the competition. Health & Beauty trade shows give you behind-the-scenes access to what the top spas in the country are up to.
4. Keep pace with best practices in patient care
It’s important to provide the highest level of care and build trust with your clients. Industry events can help you stay updated on best practices in patient care, so your treatments are safe and effective. You’ll learn about new techniques, protocols, and standards from industry experts to improve the quality of the services you provide. You can even bring clinical staff with you to help improve their skills.
5. Discover new products and services
What services should you add to your roster? Which products should you incorporate into your services or sell at your Health & Beauty business? Trade shows can help you make informed and strategic decisions in these areas.
6. Learn how to optimize your business
Many Healthy & Beauty expos and conferences offer sessions by experienced nurses and doctors who run their own practices. Keynote speakers might cover everything from exiting your business to creating a profitable consultation funnel. You’ll get real-world advice from people who know how to optimize multi-million-dollar businesses.
7. Get inspired and motivated to succeed
If you find yourself falling behind or lacking motivation sometimes, events should become a key part of your strategy. Health & Beauty events can inspire you, reinvigorate you, and motivate you to make changes that will keep you ahead of the competition.

How to get the most out of your event
Setting aside time for MediSpa events, conferences, and trade shows isn’t easy. Follow these five tips to make the events you attend worth the effort.
Tip 1. Determine your top goal beforehand
Once you arrive at an industry trade show or MediSpa events, things can get overwhelming. There are so many booths, speakers, and networking opportunities. Make sure to create a goal before you go, so you know your top priority once you get there. Examples could be learning about a new service, choosing a new piece of equipment, or choosing a new marketing strategy to implement.
Tip 2. Choose your can’t-miss sessions
Some medical aesthetics conferences and MediSpa events have different sessions happening concurrently. Before you go, make sure to check the schedule and choose the top sessions you don’t want to miss.
Tip 3. Organize notes on your phone
Create a new doc on your phone for note taking during the event. Organize it into different subsections like keynote sessions, people to follow up with, and products to explore. This way, as you think of something to write down, you can immediately add it to the correct section instead of having to organize your notes when you get home.
Tip 4. Leave time for surprises
Although it’s wise to know your top priorities, you should also leave time for the unexpected. Give yourself plenty of time to wander around the booths and exhibits. Check out the software solutions, equipment, and products on display. You might just find the perfect new addition to your business.
Tip 5. Don’t try to get work done while you’re gone
MediSpa events can be exhausting, especially when they span multiple days. Make sure to decompress at the end of each day—rather than stuffing your calendar with administrative tasks. Save your energy for the conference so you can do your best at discovering new solutions and learning new advancements. If you’re going to squeeze in anything, it should be a massage or a facial—not work.
