Meet Dani Howard, Owner and CEO of The Salt Room Wesley Chapel and The Salt Room & Sauna
Dani’s health struggles began in childhood, evolving into a spectrum from allergies and sinus infections to the daunting challenge of liver failure. Her ordeal ignited an ardent interest in self-help and holistic health, inspiring a dedicated mission not only to address her own health concerns, but also to aid her family.
During a trip to Belgium, Dani chanced upon salt therapy and its remarkable healing properties. Upon returning to Florida, she delved into research and unearthed The Salt Room® founded by Ashley Steiner in Orlando. Regularly making the trip to Orlando, Dani witnessed a transformative impact on her health, as well as the health of her children and her father.
“After just one session, I was stunned,” Dani recalls. “I went from feeling incredibly unwell to invigorated within minutes.”
Her father, afflicted with emphysema and sarcoidosis, experienced remarkable changes thanks to salt therapy. “Salt therapy has effectively given my father his life back. He can now complete a full sentence without coughing, gagging, or struggling for breath. Moreover, he’s substantially reduced his medication, astonishing his doctors. While his diseases are not reversible, they have paused in their progression and have not worsened.”
How did The Salt Room Wesley Chapel and The Salt Room & Sauna open?
Since her very first salt therapy session, Dani had an epiphany that charted the course for her life’s mission. “I envisioned offering something that would be my way of giving back while aiding people in improving their quality of life without relying solely on medicinal interventions, much like how salt therapy positively impacted me and my family.”
In subsequent years, Dani took the initiative to acquire licensing for two The Salt Room locations in Florida – Wesley Chapel in 2017 and Citrus Park, Tampa in 2022, contributing to the collective network of 15 The Salt Room locations across the US.
“I’ve been witness to numerous success stories, and it’s incredibly fulfilling, particularly when it comes to helping children prevent health issues that might manifest in adulthood,” Dani reveals. “I’ve really poured my heart and soul into this thing and my aim is to establish additional The Salt Room locations nationwide and continue to help more people!”
Presently, Dani has forged a partnership with The Salt Room brand, allowing her to extend support to other licensees. She assists them right from the outset, helping to set up their facility, train their staff, and integrate the software necessary for their operations.
What does The Salt Room offer?
The Salt Room establishments may provide various ancillary services, yet the primary emphasis across all of them remains on salt therapy. Depending on the particular salt room, there could be an allocation ranging from two to four tons of pharmaceutical-grade salt, meticulously pulverized into microparticles using a Halo generator.
According to Dani, “As you recline in zero-gravity chairs and take in the salt particles, it aids in reducing inflammation in the upper and lower respiratory system, fortifying the immune system and enhancing skin health. Regardless of your condition, salt therapy is purportedly beneficial.”
Salt therapy is believed to alleviate diverse symptoms and conditions, including allergies, cystic fibrosis, ear and sinus infections, coughs, asthma, emphysema, sinusitis, bronchitis, dermatitis, rhinitis, the common cold, and flu.

How do you attract new clients?
The Salt Room previously offered a $25 introductory special, yet this attracted numerous one-time visitors who did not return. Instead, they transitioned to a BOGO (buy-one get-one free) offer, which expires within 30 days, aiming to highlight the enduring benefits of salt therapy on their daily well-being.
Dani shares, “Now, we’ve noticed people who come in for regular maintenance, once or twice a week, and those who come more frequently, three or four times a week to address chronic conditions.”
Why did The Salt Room switch to WellnessLiving?
When Dani first acquired the license for The Salt Room in Wesley Chapel, the business management software of choice was Mindbody. Over time, Dani found the software to be slightly cumbersome—though it offered numerous add-ons, everything felt like an assortment of disjointed platforms, requiring leaps between systems for even the simplest of tasks.

Reflecting on this transition, Dani expressed, “It was definitely a significant endeavor to migrate all that client data from Mindbody to WellnessLiving. The process was stressful, to say the least. However, the team at WellnessLiving took it seriously and made it their priority to guide us through each step. Their support ensured a smooth and successful transition, relieving much of the stress from this massive undertaking.”
