Find Out Why Glofox Online Clients Are Switching Software
What is Glofox?
Glofox is a business management software for gym and fitness studio owners. They offer tools for marketing, engagement, member experience, personalized training, and more. Through the Glofox app, they also help clients drive and manage bookings.
Glofox’s website advertises their revenue-generating capabilities too. Their homepage advertises the software’s potential to grow revenue by 89% or more.
But here’s the deal – while Glofox offers a ton of cool features, some customers have had their share of challenges. Technical hiccups and less-than-stellar customer service have cropped up as the main issues, and as described in some of the reviews below.
Glofox Reviews: Users Have Trouble Booking Classes
Glofox prides itself on user-friendliness and seamless booking. However, as per some reviews, members have trouble booking classes through Glofox.
One customer named Henry C. noted they were “randomly not able to book members into classes.” He adds, ”If you set a class size, some will randomly increase by one. You have to have double logins for all your staff, trainers, and employees. In addition, there’s no real reporting to see what’s going on with your memberships. Making a calendar is super glitchy and setting dates for starting a specific class doesn’t do anything half the time.”
One customer, FitLearn.co.uk, also cited issues with Glofox’s Stripe integration. “We have spent the last three days unable to sign members up and not take any money because of an ongoing problem with Stripe and Glofox,” they explained. This user also had trouble getting customer support. “Can never get through to support,” they continued. “When you call you just get voicemail.”
Lack of Customer Service and Support
As a business owner, onboarding support is essential. Your customer support team should also be available to answer questions on an ongoing basis.
Support is critical to a positive user experience. Going by the reviews, some customers, like Courteney Lee, didn’t receive much. “The customer service stopped as soon as the sign-up process was over… it was impossible to get help if I needed it.” Customer service only responded once this customer asked to cancel their account. “They hassled me to not cancel, acting as if they cared about my business all of a sudden,” she explained.
Another reviewer named David Morenfeld called it a support loop. “The worst aspect of their service is that they run you in a support loop, where different support staff always work to solve your problem,” he said. “But since you are talking with so many support staff about the same thing it becomes a game of telephone, and the questions never get answered, and the problem never gets solved.”
One reviewer named Vivien Anstiss mentioned that Glofox didn’t offer support for her urgent class crediting issue. “I discovered a membership ‘glitch’… where people were being double credited classes. It has now been over three weeks since I reported this issue and it’s happened again this month,” she said.
According to this review from Vivien, Glofox said it was an issue with her studio alone. “I was told that the issue was just with my studio, the engineers haven’t looked at it yet, and they couldn’t give me any timeline,” she explained. “I’m really unimpressed with the level of response on this matter.”
Lack of support costs customers time and money. Left to their own devices, customers may be left wasting time doing manual work they feel the software was meant to help with.
Glofox Canceling Memberships: Some Users Reported Losing Members After Using Glofox
If the software you choose isn’t the right fit, you deserve a simple cancelation process. According to some reviews, the process was tedious and costly for some Glofox online clients.
Another former customer, David Morenfeld, said, “after our migration they continued to bill us, when we asked for a refund, they said they would only refund half, and they still have not even done that.”
Unable to find a satisfactory resolution, David also said their next step would be “to go to small claims and write to the Better Business Bureau.”
Glofox’s User Experience
In some Reddit reviews, Glofox online clients said their members also have user experience trouble with the app. It can be slow, send an annoying amount of notifications, and cause waitlist issues.
One user named Conrads57 said Glofox has “so many notifications, pop ups, audio, and an email for every booking. It’s slow and at times doesn’t correctly show if you’re waitlisted.”
Another user named SpoonfulOfMedicine cited slow loading times between screens when using Glofox on iOS. “The iOS app isn’t great. Slow transitions between screens and it’s difficult to see your position if you’re on a waitlist,” they explained.
