Two of the more popular options for improving the gym experience are WellnessLiving’s FitBUILDER and Wodify Perform.

What’s the difference between FitBUILDER and Wodify Perform?
WellnessLiving’s FitBUILDER add-on and Wodify’s Perform add-on were designed to help functional training gyms and other studios that offer high-intensity interval training and strength conditioning in a group setting.
At first glance, the tools are quite similar. Both allow you to create a library of exercises for building circuits and workouts. You can create a workout of the day (WOD), share it with your clientele, and display it on a smart TV during class.
But these platforms differ when it comes to certain features. Wodify Perform doesn’t offer advanced circuit management or exercise countdown timers.
The core platforms are also quite different. While Wodify offers basic business management features, it lacks reviews and rewards systems. Below, we dive into these differences in greater detail.
FitBUILDER vs Wodify Perform: Feature comparisons
Let’s take a look at how these platforms compare when it comes to key features.
Exercise management
As for exercise management, these two options offer identical functionality. With both platforms, you’ll be able to add new exercises with descriptions, videos, images, categories, and tags. You can also filter your library of exercises by the tags to make it easy to find them and add them to workouts.
Whiteboard
Using a digital whiteboard can really change the entire workout experience. With FitBUILDER and Wodify, you’ll be able to turn your smart TV into a whiteboard so you can share workout details and a continuously updated leaderboard based on the results that clients log in their app.
FitBUILDER does pull ahead in this category, as it offers an automated timer so you preset your workout and have it countdown correctly—allowing trainers to focus on clients, not the tech. FitBUILDER also lets you display workout videos on your whiteboard which is great for providing additional instruction and posture tips.
Circuits and benchmark categories
For building circuits and benchmark categories, FitBUILDER is the clear winner. While both platforms allow you to create circuits, only FItBUILDER lets you add circuits to benchmark categories. FitBUILDER also includes tags, images, and videos for circuits while Wodify does not.
Workout management
Both FitBUILDER and Wodify make it easy to create WODs and add them to your calendar. They include workout builders so you can easily create, duplicate, and modify workouts. However, FitBUILDER takes things a step further with routines, which consist of multiple workouts throughout the week. With FitBUILDER, you can create, edit, and reorder routines to provide clients with additional guidance.
Mobile apps
FitBUILDER and Wodify both offer mobile apps so clients can check the workout details, log their results, and review their logbook and workout history. With these apps, clients can also like and comment on a friend’s results.
However, because Wodify doesn’t offer rewards programs, clients won’t be able to engage with your loyalty program or cash in points if you choose Wodify. (More on this below.)
As for the staff apps, the functionality is similar. Staff will be able to review scheduled workouts and use this information to lead class. However, when it comes to payroll and schedule management, you’ll have to pay a lot more to get these features inside your staff app.
Rewards
Unfortunately, Wodify’s core business management solution doesn’t include rewards programs. With WellnessLiving, you’ll get a fully featured rewards solution so you can increase customer loyalty. Easily create a rewards program with different tiers and allow clients to cash in their points for free swag, services, and discounts. Points can be earned by attending class, purchasing products, leaving online reviews, referring friends, celebrating an anniversary with your gym, and more.
Reviews management
Wodify also doesn’t include online reviews management. While this doesn’t impact the workout experience, it does have a major impact on your business. Online reviews are one of the most important aspects of running a business. The more positive reviews you have, the more likely people are to choose you over competitors. Plus, online reviews affect your rankings and help you show up at the top of Google Search and Google Maps.
With WellnessLiving, you get a two-step review management solution so that customers are only prompted to leave a public review after giving a high star rating. This system can also be automated so that you request reviews whenever a client hits a certain milestone, such as being a part of your gym for six months.
FitBUILDER vs Wodify Perform: Customer reviews
WellnessLiving (the creator of FitBUILDER) has 4.3 stars on Capterra out of 472 reviews and 4.4 stars on G2 out of 129 reviews.
Wodify, on the other hand has 4.3 stars on Capterra out of 80 reviews and 4.3 stars on G2 out of 31 reviews.
Overall the ratings are similar, but WellnessLiving is rated slightly higher and has far more public reviews available.
FitBUILDER vs Wodify Perform: Pricing
WellnessLiving FitBUILDER and Wodify Perform offer similar pricing, with the first charging $99 per month and the latter charging $69 per month for these add-on features.
But it’s a different story when we look at their pricing for their core gym management solutions. WellnessLiving gives you a lot more features in each pricing tier compared to Wodify. For example, both companies have a $99-per-month base plan to give you client management, inventory management, and automated billing. But WellnessLiving packs a better punch, offering custom analytics dashboards, payroll tracking, and digital contracts in the base plan. WellnessLiving’s lowest-cost plan also includes the rewards and review management features that Wodify lacks across all plans.
Because WellnessLiving offers the lowest payment processing fees in the business, you’ll also save on credit card and ACH fees.
To sum up, both FitBUILDER and Wodify allow you to digitize your workout programming, but FitBUILDER pulls ahead overall due to the countdown timer. And the core platform, WellnessLiving, also provides better value.
